Honda Cars India releases its sales performance report for June 2021. The Japanese carmaker sold a total of 4,767 passenger cars and exported 1,241 units for June 2021. This, when compared to June 2020, stood at 1,398 units of sales in the domestic market and 142 units of exports. The company mentioned that for June, the despatches were in line with the total production output and were below 50 per cent of the pre-Covid level.
With the current decreasing trend in the number of cases of Covid-19 in the country, slowly the car sales are again picking up the pace. For the last two months or so, the automotive market was stagnant, with multiple factors affecting the sales of new cars. But, now, as the restrictions are getting more lenient. Automotive firms also expect that things will soon fall back to normal. Honda also confirmed the same and iterated that currently, there’s positive momentum in the market. Customers are now more than willing to go out and experience new products. To maintain a steady supply, Honda Car India is currently planning to revamp its production this month at its manufacturing facility in Rajasthan.
The Japanese car manufacturer has received much love in the country, especially in the sedan segment. Maximum of the sales are led by two products, i.e. City and Amaze, which are both sedans. The other products in Honda Cars India include Jazz and WR-V. Honda is now also offering a one-stop solution for buying and selling pre-owned cars via its Honda Auto Terrace platform. The vehicles sold via this channel undergo multiple quality checks, thus confirming the assurance of quality.
