Honda patents Forza 350 maxi-scooter in India

Written by Kanad Kalasur

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HSMI) has patented the design of the Forza 350 maxi-scooter in India. The Forza brand has never been to India; however, there have been talks about the maxi-scooter in recent times. That said, the news of the patent should not be taken as confirmation for a launch of the same in the near future.

This is not the first time Honda has patented / trademarked any product sold in the International markets. This move could also be for protecting its intellectual property rights in India. But, as enthusiasts, we still have that small hope that the Japanese company would get the Forza 350 in India.

Honda Forza 350 : More Details

In terms of design, the maxi-scooter comes with comfortable rising seats, a big electrically adjustable windscreen and a comfortable posture. The scooter now gets a redesigned front fascia and LED lights all around.

It gets a 330cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled SOHC engine that is good for 29 HP and 31.5 Nm of peak torque. It is compliant with Euro 5 emission norms and has been tuned for crisp response.

Honda Forza 350 : India Showcase

A few years back, Honda imported some units of this maxi-scooter. However, it was brought in for a dealer showcase and never saw the light of the day. But, the silver lining was that all these scooters found a potential buyer. That means there is a market for such a scooter in India, and being the leader in the scooter segment, Honda could be a prime candidate to launch such a premium scooter in the Indian market.

Pricing of the Honda Forza 350

In International markets like the UK, the scooter retails for about GBP 5,799. Without considering any duties, this works out to around INR 5.8 lakh. Hence, if launched, the price could be upwards of INR 5 lakh. We currently have the Keeway 300cc scooters and the BMW C 400 GT on sale in India.
