Honda patents air-conditioning system for bikes

Written by Dev Jaising

So, Honda just patented an air-conditioning on-bike system. Motorcycle riders usually stick to morning or evening bike rides, but not in the afternoon as riding under the hot sun takes a toll on them. Now, with this air-conditioning system for bikes, Honda wants riders to zoom out even on a hot sunny day.

This system has a pretty simple mechanism. The system is a standalone tank bag which looks like some extra luggage. You can actually store stuff here. But what’s interesting is the device under the lid. You have a small blower unit below which sucks air from the mesh on the sides of the bag, passes it through an intake chamber and then released via vents which point towards the chin of your helmet. You can also keep a cool pack inside the bag for cooler air.

However, riding on high speeds, we wonder how this small blower unit would perform in directing cool air.

This could be either a breakthrough on tourer bikes or absolutely rubbish. We could only wait and watch how this turns out.
