Honda moves Hornet 2.0 & CB200X to Big Wing showrooms

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Honda’s Big Wing dealerships retail premium Honda products starting from the CB300F to Honda’s flagship motorcycle the GoldWing. Now, reports reveal that the brand has also started to retail the Honda Hornet 2.0 and the CB200X from the Big Wing dealerships. The Big Wing which was earlier reserved only for premium Honda motorcycles is now likely to include the 200cc capacity bikes as well. However, Honda’s official website does not showcase the Hornet 2.0 nor the CB200X as of yet. It could only be a matter of time when the brand updates its website with the product information as well as booking options for the Hornet 2.0 and the CB200X.

Boosting Sales?

Honda’s premium Big Wing dealerships receive a comparatively less footfall as well as the sales number is also less compared to its regular dealership. The inclusion of the Honda Hornet 2.0 and the CB200X at Honda Big Wing dealerships could be to boost sales at Big Wing. This could also mean that Honda is likely to be changing the product positioning of the Hornet 2.0 and the CB200X by selling them alongside the CB300F, CB300R, CB350 H’ness and CB350 RS. In addition to this, Honda also retails the NX500, Transalp, Africa Twin and GoldWing at the Big Wing outlets. Although the brand is likely to retail the Hornet 2.0 and CB200X from its premium showroom, the pricing on the motorcycles is likely to remain unchanged.

Hornet 2.0 & CB200X

The Honda Hornet 2.0 features an urban street fighter design and comes with sleek yet muscular proportions. Powering the Hornet 2.0 is a 184cc single-cylinder air cooled engine that produces 17.26 Hp of power and 15.9 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the CB200X which is based on the street naked Hornet 2.0, uses the same engine but comes with adventure style bodywork, a tall windscreen, a belly pan and knuckle guards distinguishing itself from the Hornet 2.0. Thanks to the fairings the CB200X appears to be substantially larger than the street fighter. Currently the Honda Hornet 2.0 comes with a price tag of INR 1.39 lakh ex-showroom, while the CB200X comes with a price of INR 1.47 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi.
