Honda launches WR-V Edge Edition

Written by Parichay Malvankar

Honda has launched the WR-V in a special edition avatar called the WR-V Edge Edition. This limited period only special edition will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options with the former being priced at INR 8.01 lakh and the latter asking for INR 9.04 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Honda WR-V has become quite a success story in the hatchback crossover segment. After the Hyundai i20 Activa, only the Honda WR-V in this niche segment has managed to find buyers. Other cars such as the Toyota Etios Cross, Volkswagen Cross Polo didn’t really do well. Basically a decked up Honda Jazz, the WR-V also rivals the likes of Ford EcoSport & Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.

In terms of added equipment, the WR-V Edge Edition comes with 16″ dual tone alloy wheels, reverse camera with display on the rear view mirror, parking sensors & Honda Connect. It is based on the S variant of the WR-V, so all other features from this variant are carried over.

Powering the WR-V petrol is  1.2L, 4-cylinder motor producing 89 BHP of power and 110 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The WR-V diesel makes use of a 1.5L, 4-cylinder block producing 99 BHP of power and 200 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

There’s no sign of a Jazz facelift in the near future, and the WR-V is fairly new, so it will remain unchanged for this year for sure.
