Two-wheelers form a major part of the Indian auto industry. The sheer number of two-wheelers in the market makes India the largest market for motorcycles and scooters. Now with the latest fuel norms kicking in Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has updated its SP 125 offering. What Is The Honda SP125?
Evident from the name, SP125 is a slightly more premium offering than the Shine. This gets a slew of additional tech and features that Shine simply misses out on. In terms of styling too, Honda SP125 is updated for MY2023. It takes on the premium 125cc competing against the likes of TVS Raider and Bajaj Pulsar NS125. SP125 rides on 100-section tyres with updated graphics and more. The main highlight of this 2023 update is its engine. The motor is now BS6 phase II compliant, meeting RDE norms and also meets E20 compatibility (20% ethanol blend).
Honda SP125 updated for MY23 also gets eSP (Enhanced Smart Power). This tech, as Honda explains, is a culmination of a silent starter generator (ACG), Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI), friction reduction, fully digital metre, fuel efficiency details, ECO indicator and gear position indicator. ACG results in a silent cranking of the engine without the need for a conventional starter motor. Meanwhile, the ECO indicator makes sure that the rider is travelling in optimum gear, matching the speed traversed. The equipped 124cc engine makes 10.72 BHP of power and 10.9 Nm of torque.
Key Features On Offer
Honda SP125 MY 2023 benefits from a slew of features. This includes LED headlights, a fully digital instrument cluster, an ECO indicator, a gear position indicator, a service reminder, distance to empty, real-time fuel efficiency, average fuel efficiency and more. Sadly, SP125 misses out on the Bluetooth connectivity, which rivals TVS and Hero offers.
