Honda launches CR-V Special Edition SUV in India priced at INR 29.50 lakh

Honda will be launching the CR-V Special Edition in the Indian market which will be sold in a limited production run of just 45 units. The limited-edition model is expected to be priced at INR 29.50 lakh ex-showroom which is approximately INR 1.23 lakh more than the standard model. According to sources, the limited edition model will be the 2020 Honda CR-V facelift that was launched recently in the international market. 

The facelift model comes with refreshed front and rear elements with dark inserts on the LED headlamps, reduced chrome on the front fascia, revised front and rear bumpers and a few other cosmetic tweaks. The facelift model also comes with mild tweaks to the interiors of the SUV along with a few add-on features. Exactly what features are arriving to the Indian market have not been revealed yet but the CR-V in the Malaysian market features Honda’s latest Sensing technology with adaptive cruise control, low speed follow, lane departure warning, road departure mitigation, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, collision mitigation braking system etc.

Other features on the inside such as the layered dashboard with contemporary styling and wooden accents are likely to be carried over from the current model along with a raised transmission tunnel, full-colour TFT digital instruments cluster with driver attention monitor, steering mounted controls, a large centrally mounted touchscreen, with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay integration and leather upholstery. 

Honda has recently updated the powertrain on the India-spec CR-V to BS6 emission standards, the same powertrain is expected to power the limited edition model. The Honda CR-V in India is powered by a BS6 standard 2.0-litre i-VTEC four-cylinder 4-cylinder 4-valve SOHC petrol engine that produces 154 PS of power and 189 Nm of torque matched to a CVT automatic gearbox and two-wheel driveline. The diesel iteration of the CR-V was dropped from the line-up during its transition into BS6 standards. 

The Honda CR-V was updated in 2018 and is currently in its 5th generation. The SUV measures 4,592mm in length, 1,855mm in width, 1,679mm in height along with the wheelbase of 2,660mm and a seating capacity that accommodates 5 people.
