Honda launches BS6 Shine 125 motorcycle priced at INR 67,857

Honda has launched the BS6 compliant version of their 125cc Shine commuter motorcycle. The bike has been priced at INR 67,857. The Honda Shine is a successful nameplate here in India with more than 8 million sales till date. The BS6 compliant model of the Honda Shine now also claims 14% increase in mileage which should attract more cost conscious buyers. Bikes will reach dealerships by the end of February 2020 and deliveries will follow shortly.

The 2020 Honda Shine 125cc comes with changes to the front visor which gets chrome accents, chrome accents on the side cover, new body graphics, chrome for the exhaust muffler cover, new speedometer design, new tail lamp, all-black alloy wheels and body colours which include black, grey, red and blue. Honda is now offering an industry first 6 year warranty package for the Shine with 3 years standard + 3 years optional extended warranty on the BS6 model.

The BS6 compliant motor of the Honda Shine is a 125cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke block which now benefits from fuel-injection. Backed with the Honda Eco Technology and eSP or Enhanced Smart Power system, the bike will become even better to ride. The engine now makes use of a new ACG starter which results in a silent and jerk free engine start up, automatic hoke system for richer air fuel mixture, friction reduction technology with the use of a roller rocker arm with needle bearing. Mileage has gone up by 14%, but there is no claimed number shared yet.

The BS6 Honda Shine also features low rolling resistance tubeless tyres, a new 5-speed gearbox, new DC headlamp, new engine start / stop switch which functions two ways, integrated headlamp switch with pass function, 5-step adjustable rear suspension, combi-brake system with equalizer, sealed chain, additional 5mm of ground clearance than before, wheelbase increased by 19mm for better highway stability and a seat longer by 27mm for more comfort.
