Honda India Racing Team lands in Malaysia for round 2 of Asia Road Racing Championship 2022

Honda India Racing Team is all prepared to participate in Round 2 of the Asia Road Racing Championship 2022. The inaugural round took place in Thailand in March 2022. And now, Round 2 will take place at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. This coming weekend we will see the duo of Indian riders Rajiv Sethu and Senthil Kumar. They will fight against 16 Asian riders from 6 countries (Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam) in the Asia Production 250cc (AP250) class. The start has been quite positive for team India, as both the riders lapped up valuable points for the team.

Target Set High For Second Round

Riding on the success and momentum of round 1, both the riders will target further improvements. Rajiv Sethu, the most experienced of the two riders, is riding his 4th season in ARRC. He recorded the best-ever finish by an Indian rider in AP250 class of ARRC with the 11th spot in 2019. With 8 points already under this name, Rajiv is more than motivated to better his position in the upcoming races

Senthil Kumar, too has special memories with the Sepang race track. It was this track where he made his debut in the ARRC and notched his first Top 14 finish, thus earning 2 points for the Indian team. After round 1 of the 2022 season, Senthil has 3 points and stands at 15th position. Both the riders seem quite motivated for the upcoming race and looking forward to climbing higher on the leaderboard.

2022 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship

This is the 25th edition of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship, often dubbed Asia’s most competitive motorcycle road racing championship. There are a total of six rounds for the 2022 season. The season started at the Chang International Circuit (Thailand) on 22nd March 2022. From here, the season moves to Sepang International Circuit (Malaysia), scheduled for 29th May. The race for 3rd July 2022 is not yet decided. From there the season follows to Sports land Sugo International Circuit (Japan) in August 2022, Zhuhai International Circuit (China) in September 2022 and then the final round will be held at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand in the month of November this year.
