Written by Parichay Malvankar

Honda is currently on a product offensive. Riding high on the success of the Amaze compact sedan, Honda already has the CR-V & Civic lined up for a Indian debut in the coming months. After this, Honda wants a piece of the pie from the mid-size SUV segment. And why not, look how good the Hyundai Creta is doing in the sales department.

Reports suggest that the Honda HR-V / Vezel could be heading to India by 2019. This will be a premium SUV offering slotting under the upcoming CR-V and will rival the Hyundai Creta, Renault Captur and the likes. This could also possibly replace the flop show BR-V, and could be priced in the range of INR 9-15 lakh.

Based on the new GSP platform which is used by the Amaze, the Honda HR-V / Vezel will most definitely carry forward the 1.5L petrol and diesel engine options with over 100 horsepower on tap. You can also expect a CVT automatic on the petrol and diesel engine options.

This HR-V / Vezel is already on sale in the global market. With the design style similar to the old CR-V with a curvaceous body style, it is sure to wow potential customers.
