Honda empowers 2,000+ women about road safety on International Women’s Day

Honda 2Wheelers India Limited celebrated this International Women’s Day by providing training on road safety to over 2,000+ women. The Japanese two-wheeler company has been instrumental in providing awareness about road ethics and safety in India since its inception in 2001. The company claims to sensitize over 39 lakh Indians on the importance of being aware and responsible road users via its different channels like Traffic Training Parks, Safety Driving Education Centers and more.

Honda Road Safety E-Gurukul

For this International Women’s Day, Honda trained over 2,000 females across 14 cities of India. Honda’s road safety instructors spread the important aspects of safe driving leveraging their Traffic Training Parks to COVID-19 warriors including homemakers, social workers, health care professionals, nurses, sanitization and cleaning staff, police officers, civil defence officers, female security guards, and corporate personnel. In addition to that, this campaign also reached out to more than 100+ female college students and teachers across 9 cities of India including Patna, Samastipur, Thane, Mumbai, Calicut, Coimbatore, Chennai, Trichy and Hyderabad. The main aim of this campaign was to spread a strong message to society about the capabilities of what a woman can achieve through her sheer hard work and dedication. This event will help build a positive impression on all the women who participated in this event and will further motivate other women to follow the traffic safety rules.

Honda’s Vision of “Safety for Everyone”

Honda 2Wheelers is making use of all the digital tools to help spread the awareness of road safety to more people across the country. In fact, Honda is advising its 1,000+ dealerships across India to impart comprehensive pre-delivery safety advice to all the new customers. Due to the pandemic, the company started this ‘Honda Road Safety E-Gurukul’ programme which makes use of digital platforms to impart awareness of road safety and has been a massive hit. Currently, the company claims to empower over 3 lakh Indians on road safety via this Honda Road Safety E-Gurukul’ programme. In terms of sales figure, Honda 2Wheelers registered a cumulative sales of 4,11,578 units for February 2021 which translates to a growth of 31% as compared to the same period last year.
