Honda E VO – What is it?
Developed in association with Honda’s local partner Guangzhou, the new E VO is a neo-retro electric motorcycle, which offers a combination of style, performance, and exclusivity.
Designed with a unique style, it features a round LED headlamp, a cafe-racer-like headlamp cowl, split seat, and a semi-aggressive riding posture.
It is powered by a 15.3 kW electric motor, while buyers can choose between a 4.1 kWh battery and a 6.2 kWh battery pack.
The 4.1 kWh battery variant offers 120 km WMTC-claimed range and can be charged in 1 hour 30 minutes with a rapid charger.
Meanwhile, the bigger 6.2 kWh battery pack offers a WMTC-claimed range of 170 km, and it can be charged in the same 1 hour 30 minutes through a rapid charger.
The chassis of the E VO has been made out of forged aluminium, while it is suspended on USD forks at the front, and a monoshock at the rear.
In terms of features, it is equipped with LED lights, a 7-inch TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, 3 ride modes (Eco/Normal/Sport), TPMS, navigation support, music, and more.
Buyers can opt between two colour choices – Black and White.
Being a local product, Honda will not sell it outside of the Chinese market. However, it can not be denied that Honda is slowly stepping into the EV segment and it is not far away that we get to see an affordable Honda EV in India soon.
Our verdict
Honda E VO looks promising as it bears a unique design, latest features, and a long-range electric setup. For the Indian market, Honda has launched its first-ever electric two-wheeler Activa e, earlier this year.
