Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has tied up with Delhi Traffic Police to conduct a Road Safety Summer Camp for Delhi’s college students. The event will take place at Traffic Training Park, Baba Kharak Singh Road, New Delhi. The event will span over a total of 10-days, starting on 6 June and going on till 17 June 2022. College students aged 17 to 20 years will form the majority part of the audience. The students will get safety tips on the road rules and traffic from HMSI’s skilled safety instructors. To make the activity eventful, HMSI will incorporate secure and fun learning via interactive learning programs. The students will also learn about safety measures like self-defence, disaster management, and fire safety.

Key Highlights Of The Road Safety Summer Camp

During this safety summer camp, the students will get theory sessions on road rules and regulations. Topics include road signs and markings, pre-riding checks, driver’s duties on the road, riding gear and posture explanation and safe riding etiquettes. There’s also a special training programme to improve the risk prediction ability of riders on roads. Known as Kiken Yosoku Training (KYT), this will help in enhancing rider/driver’s sensitivity to danger and ensure safe driving action on roads. To keep up with learning from the theory sessions, participants will then implement the learnings through practical training on a Honda two-wheeler. Post completion of training, the participants will get certificates of participation.

Honda’s Commitment Towards Road Safety

The two-wheeler maker has been at the forefront in terms of imparting knowledge about road safety. Honda strives to attain zero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles globally by 2050. To achieve this, the company has put in a lot of effort. For India, HMSI’s road safety awareness initiative has already spread to over 45 lac Indians. Furthermore, the instructors conduct daily programmes at its 10 adopted traffic parks across India and 7 Safety Driving Education Centres (SDEC).
