Most schools and colleges have now opened in India as the Covid situation gets normal. Honda 2Wheelers India continues its National Road Safety Awareness Campaign. Now, they are emphasising more on imparting knowledge to school and college children. This event is of great importance to spread road safety awareness among citizens.

The two-day camp at the ECS Bagless School in Gwalior saw participation from over 2,100 school students and staff members. HMSI’s road safety Instructors imparted age-appropriate road safety learning programs to enhance the retention of road safety awareness among all. Road safety education is essential for developing a road safety mindset in India. Events like these prove Honda’s continued commitment to the cause. They aim to enable safer Indian roads, where on-ground road safety training plays an important role. Educating children from an early age helps in the long run.

Key Highlights Of Honda’s National Road Safety Awareness Program

HMSI’s National Road Safety Awareness program made learning fun yet scientific through a host of events. HMSI conducted this event under the guidance of specially trained road safety instructors. The 5 to 10 years old children learnt about the do’s and don’ts while commuting on a school bus and cycling.

Furthermore, the 11 to 12 years olds learned how to ride their bicycle safely. They were also taught about their duties as a pillion on a two-wheeler and the importance of safety gear on roads. To make this learning more exciting and engaging, the kids got a hands-on learning experience on the specially imported CRF50 motorcycles.

Theory sessions covered topics like safety riding on road rules and regulations, road signs and markings, driver’s duties on the road, riding gear and posture explanation and safe riding etiquette. The school staff members who are already existing riders were tested through theoretical as well as practical training on a two-wheeler. HMSI also conducted fun educational activities like road safety quizzes.
