Honda City petrol & diesel variant equipment list updated

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Honda City still remains a top favourite amongst the customers looking for sedans in 2022. The demand is so strong that Honda is still selling the 4th-gen alongside the 5th-gen. Now, we have reports that suggest that Honda has rejigged some of the features for both the generations of the City on sale in India.

What Are The Changes?

City 4th generation is available only in two trims, SV and V, that too in the petrol-manual combo. With the update, the base SV trim now gets a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Previously, this was only available with the V trim. But there’s some sad news in here as the infotainment system on offer uses the previous-gen software. And hence it misses out on the latest tech and features. But, interestingly, the price for the 4th gen SV trim remains the same, i.e. INR 9.29 lakh (ex-showroom). With this update and the pricing of the sedan, it makes a pretty good sense to get the 4th gen SV trim.

However, there’s sad news for those looking for the 5th generation City, as Honda has taken off some features. The V trim now does not get front and rear mudguards as standard anymore. The interior door handles that got the chrome treatment are no longer available. They are the standard plain, black plastic door handles on all the trims.

Of all, the most highlighting deletion is that of a full-size spare wheel. The 5th generation City previously got a dual-tone full-size alloy spare wheel. But now it gets a 15-inch steel space saver unit. Another key highlight is that Honda will remove trim badges from all their models in India. And thus, the various trims – such as V, VX and ZX – badges which were put on the tailgate won’t be seen anymore. The deletions from the 5th generation model hint that Honda has opted for cost-cutting measures.
