Good news for the ones looking to get the Honda CB500X. The motorcycle is now cheaper by almost INR 1 lakh and thus will retail at an ex-showroom price of INR 5.79 lakh. Previously, the CB500X used to retail at INR 6.88 lakh ex-showroom. With this massive price cut, the ADV based motorcycle makes so much sense now.

Interestingly, Honda has already updated the CB500X in the international market with some significant updates. This includes a USD fork, dual front discs, lighter swingarm and front wheel and a new colourway. And as per sources, the chances are high that Honda will introduce the updated model for the Indian market. Being a CKD, the price tag is on the higher side, but nevertheless a perfect choice for ADV touring enthusiasts.

What Changes Do We See In The 2022 Model?

When compared to the 2021 model, the update includes a host of mechanical changes. The key highlighting ones include a new, non-adjustable 41mm, Showa SFF-BP USD fork. This unit replaces the telescopic fork in the outgoing model. The front wheel is now made of aluminium which is 100gm lighter than the previous one. Another change is the replacement of 310mm single disc with twin, 296mm discs with twin-piston Nissin callipers. To further enhance the performance, Honda is using a new swingarm which is 1 kg lighter than the previous unit. In terms of aesthetics, Honda has added a new ‘Pearl Organic Green/Black’ colour shade for the 2022 model.

Mechanical And Powertrain

Both the 2021 and 2022 get the same 471 cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine. The performance figure stands at 47.6hp at 8,500rpm and 43.2Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. With a fuel tank of 17.7 litres, the motorcycle is a perfect choice for weekend trips. In terms of equipment, the motorcycle does miss out on some important kits. In terms of electronic assist, the motorcycle does not get traction control, quickshifter or cornering ABS.
