Honda Amaze Special Edition launched starting at INR 7 lakh

Honda Cars India Limited has introduced a Special Edition Honda Amaze marking the beginning of this festival season enhancing the family sedan. The Honda Amaze Special Edition model will be available in both Petrol and Diesel fuel options along with Manual and CVT Automatic gearbox options with prices starting from INR 7 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. The Honda Amaze Special Edition is based on the S grade trim and comes with features such as Digipad 2.0 – 17.7-cm advanced touchscreen infotainment system, new stylish seat covers, a new ergonomically positioned Sliding Armrest, a Special Edition logo on the tailgate and new Special Edition specific body graphics.

The Honda Amaze is powered by a BS6-compliant 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine which produces 90 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque available in both manual transmission and a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) automatic. The family sedan is also available in a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that will churn out 100 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque available with a 5-speed manual transmission and a CVT gearbox. In the petrol version, Honda claims that the Amaze returns a fuel efficiency of 18.6 kmpl with the manual transmission option and 18.3 kmpl on the CVT automatic gearbox. The Diesel Manual variant offers 24.7 kmpl of mileage and the Diesel CVT automatic returns a fuel economy of 21 kmpl.

Recently, the brand announced that the popular Honda Amaze which is now in its 2nd generation was launched in May 2018 and the brand has sold around 1.4 lakh units so far. Furthermore, Tier1 cities have contributed to almost 44% of the overall volumes while the rest have been sold in Tier2 and Tier3 cities. Also, the share of the automatic transmission version has increased from 9% in the first generation Amaze to 20% in the 2nd generation.

In other news, Honda Cars India Ltd has recorded sales of 10,199 units in the month of September as against 9,301 units for the same period in the year 2019, in the domestic market, showing a growth of 9.7%. The brand is expected to gain further momentum during the festive season.
