Honda Amaze gets VX CVT variants

Honda Cars India Limited (HICL) have been in business in the passenger car market since the year 1995 in India. The Japanese premium car manufacturer has a large product range in India which includes the Brio, Jazz, Amaze, WR-V, BR-V, City, Civic, CR-V & Accord Hybrid.

The Honda Amaze was first introduced in April 2013 in India and sold 3.4 lakh units since its launch. The new 2nd generation Honda Amaze was launched in May 2018 and Honda has successfully sold 85,000 units which contribute to 46% of total sales in the fiscal year 2018-2019. The new 2nd generation Honda Amaze features bold front and rear design, spacious interiors and many safety features.

Honda Amaze comes in 4 variants in petrol and diesel options E, S, V and VX available in manual transmission and the S and V models available in a CVT automatic transmission as well. Honda has now introduced the CVT automatic Amaze in the top-spec VX model in both petrol and diesel options. The new VX will have additional equipment over the V models and will include the following features:-

  • 17.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity
  • Built-in turn by turn satellite navigation system
  • Infrared remote controller
  • Steering mounted controls
  • Additional USB-in
  • Rear camera with guidelines
  • Driver side window auto one-touch up with pinch guard

The new Honda Amaze VX CVT petrol is priced at INR 8,56,900 Ex-Showroom and the Amaze VX CVT diesel is priced at INR 9,56,900 Ex-Showroom.

Additionally, the Amaze is equipped with dual Airbags, ABS, impact sensing door unlock, reverse parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat anchorage system as standard, and new additions include front passenger seat belt reminder and an over speed alarm. These new features have been added to make the car compliant for the safety regulations that will be implemented from 1st July 2019.

The Honda Amaze is powered by two engine options. A 1199cc, 4-cylinder, SOHC, iVTEC petrol motor that produces 90 PS of power @ 6000 RPM and 110 Nm of torque @ 4800 RPM and a 1498cc, 4-cylinder, DOHC, iDTEC diesel motor producing 100 PS of power @ 3600 RPM and 200 Nm of torque @ 1750 RPM on the manual gearbox and 80 PS of power @ 3600 RPM and 160 Nm of torque @ 1750 RPM on the CVT gearbox. Both engines come with a 5-speed manual or CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) gear option.
