Written by Nizam Shaikh

Honda Cars India Limited have been in business in the passenger car market since the year 1995. Honda has a large product range which includes the:-

  • Honda Brio
  • Honda Jazz
  • Honda Amaze
  • Honda WR-V
  • Honda BR-V
  • Honda City
  • Honda Civic
  • Honda CR-V
  • Honda Accord Hybrid

Honda has now voluntarily recalled its Honda Accord manufactured from 2003-2006 as a precautionary campaign. A total of 3,669 Honda Accord sedans have been subject to this recall which have been built between the year 2003 – 2006.

The concern of the global recall from Honda is the Takata front airbag inflators that have been fitted on their Accord model which may deploy with excessive internal pressure. The airbag inflator may rupture resulting in safety risk and injury to occupants. Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) is therefore urging Honda Accord owners affected by the recall to get their vehicles repaired at authorised Honda dealers as soon as possible.

Honda owners can also check their vehicles recall status by calling their authorised dealer or check online on www.hondacarindia.com by submitting their 17 characters alphanumeric VIN (vehicle identification number). Honda will also communicate with their customers regarding this issue.

The replacements will be carried out free of charge at Honda authorised dealers starting from 18th April 2019.
