Honda Road Safety E-Gurukul introduced in India

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has announced that as the country slowly resumes from the COVID-19 lockdown with social distancing as the new normal, Honda 2Wheelers India has now introduced a Digital Road Safety Awareness Training initiative called ‘Honda Road Safety E-Gurukul’ across the country to spread awareness for safety on Indian roads.

Honda started its digital road safety campaign in May 2020 wish has now spread across 19 States, 50 cities and Union Territories. The brand has educated over 23,000 people including 8,500 kids of 230 schools, 43 colleges & 137 corporate offices spread across the country creating awareness on road safety. 

The road safety instructors at ‘Honda Road Safety E-Gurukul’ employ age-appropriate Road Safety Learning Programs to spread Road Safety awareness among all age groups through digital training programs. The program includes the importance of safe riding etiquettes, safety gears, road rules, traffic signs. 

The training program includes 45-60 minutes long interactive video sessions conducted daily on multiple platforms along with an engaging mix of theory, fun videos, case studies to amplify the learning process. Each session is also followed by a Question &Answer session for resolving queries on various topics.

Digital Road Safety Awareness Training initiative – ‘Honda Road Safety E-Gurukul’ follows what the brand calls a three-pronged approach which includes – 

Multiple learning modules for school kids as per different age groups with an aim to make kids aware about the traffic rules while walking, riding bicycles or travelling on a school bus or accompanying their parents in a two-wheeler or a car. 

A separate learning module has been devised for young college students, being new or future riders, and features topics like the importance of riding gears, correct riding posture and riding in different conditions etc., inculcating safe riding habits & road safety norms essential to make them more competent riders/drivers.

The brand also educates corporate employees by introducing the habit of safe riding by understanding the correct way of riding, vehicle maintenance and road usage rules etc.

Through its 14 Traffic Training Parks, 4 Safety Driving Education Centers and regular activities for schools, colleges, corporate & societies, Honda 2wheelers India has spread road safety awareness to more than 34 lakh people of all age groups.
