HeroMotoCorp working on premium 150cc – 400cc performance motorcycles

India’s largest motorcycle manufacturer, HeroMotoCorp has recently launched three new bikes in the Indian market. The motorcycles launched on 1st of May will soon hit the dealerships across India. HeroMotoCorp launched the much-awaited Xpulse 200, the Xpulse 200T and to everyone’s surprise, a new sporty model called the Xtreme 200S which is a fully-faired version based on the Hero Xtreme 200R. After launching the Xpulse line-up and the Xtreme 200S, HeroMotoCorp is now getting ready to further expand its product portfolio with the company planning to launch more products in the 150cc – 400cc category.

In this case, as Hero has not shed any light on the HX250R, project the only other reasonable candidate would be the XF3R which was showcased as a concept at the 2016 Auto Expo. The XF3R could debut next year as a production model, in fact, sources suggest that the bike is already under development for the mass market. If that is true the bike is expected to debut at the 2020 Auto Expo.

The XF3R concept was showcased with a lot of advanced features such as a single-sided swingarm, upside-down front forks, an asymmetrically mounted monoshock suspension, body integrated turn signal indicators, carbon fibre finish panels, a high-mounted exhaust and a sticker on the tank panel suggesting it will have switchable program modes.

The engine on the XF3R is expected to be a 300cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC unit with around 30 HP of power and around 30 Nm of torque, exact specifications and figures are still unknown and of course, Hero is tight-lipped about it as of now.

To maintain cost effectiveness, all the features from the concept might not end up on the production model but it is expected that the XF3R will feature full LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights, upside-down fork, a fully digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, turn by turn navigation and dual-channel ABS. Later in time, Hero may introduce a fully faired version of the bike.
