Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to expand its electric scooter lineup with the upcoming Vida Z. The scooter, which was first showcased at the 2024 EICMA show, has been spotted testing on Indian roads, signaling that its launch could be just around the corner. The test mule, seen in a striking yellow shade, was uncamouflaged, offering a clear look at its design and features.
Hero Vida Z – what is it?
The Vida Z adopts a family-oriented design, departing from the sporty aesthetics of the Vida V2. It features a clean side profile, a flat single-piece seat, and a spacious footboard, making it ideal for urban commuters and families. The front apron houses a rectangular headlamp with integrated LED DRLs, while the rear sports an H-shaped LED taillight. The overall design is minimalistic yet modern, appealing to a wide range of buyers.
In terms of features, the Vida Z is expected to come equipped with a digital instrument cluster offering Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Additional conveniences like a USB charging port and illuminated under-seat storage are likely to be part of the package.
Hero Vida Z – unique features
The scooter is expected to share its underpinnings with the Vida V2, including a removable battery system. The V2 Lite variant, for instance, offers a 2.2 kWh battery with a range of 94 km on a single charge. The Vida Z could feature similar specifications, making it a practical choice for daily commutes.
Hero MotoCorp has been steadily increasing its presence in the electric two-wheeler market, and the Vida Z is poised to strengthen its position further. The scooter is expected to compete with models like the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and Ather Rizta. If priced around INR 1 lakh, the Vida Z could offer a compelling mix of affordability, practicality, and modern features.
