Hero Vida VX2 electric scooter details explained

Hero Vida VX2

The new Vida VX2 is based on the more premium V1, but it features more affordable hardware and a family-centric design for more utility and convenience.

Hero is offering the Vida VX2 in two variants: Go and Plus, where both variants are being offered with a battery subscription plan (BaaS). The pricing of the Vida VX2 Go is Rs 99,940, whereas the Plus variant is positioned at Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom) – both variants with the battery included.

Meanwhile, customers can also opt for the battery subscription plan, which alters the pricing substantially. With the BaaS scheme, the Vida VX2 Go is priced at just Rs 59,490, while the Plus variant is priced at Rs 64,490 (ex-showroom).

Speaking of the BaaS package, Hero claims that the running cost of the Vida VX2 comes down to as low as Rs 0.96/km. Additionally, if you have purchased the BaaS plan and the battery health drops below 70%, the company will replace the battery for free of charge.

Charging the Vida VX2 via a fast charger will take approximately 1 hour, while the AC charger will take 6 hours for 0-80% charging.

The Vida VX2 is loaded with the latest features, such as cloud connectivity, remote immobilisation, turn-by-turn navigation, and a 4.3-inch TFT screen (LCD on the Go variant).

The main competitors of the new Vida VX2 are the Ather Rizta S, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak.

Our verdict

The new Vida VX2 electric scooter is Hero’s desperate attempt to gain profit and acquire market share in the rapidly growing electric scooter segment in India. The Vida V1 has already been a dismal seller, and Hero certainly do not want to risk it with the VX2, hence it gets the aggressive pricing with the BaaS option.
