Hero Motocorp Xpulse 200 & Xpulse 200T to be launched on 1st May

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Hero Motocorp has finally announced the launched of their much-awaited model, the Xpulse 200. The Hero Xpulse 200 was first showcased at the EICMA motor show in 2017 and it was a concept back then. The Hero Xpulse later got a road tourer version, with alloy wheels that came to be known as the Xpulse 200T.

The Xpulse 200 and Xpulse 200T are expected to have BSVI compliant engines unlike the current Hero Xtreme 200R which has a BSIV engine and for further reference, the engine on the Xtreme 200R is an air-cooled, 199.6cc, 2-valve, single-cylinder, SOHC motor producing 18.4 PS @ 8000 RPM and 17.1 Nm @ 6500 RPM. The fuel delivery system on the Xtreme 200R is a carbureted type system. The clutch is wet-type multi-plate and it is coupled to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. The Xtreme 200R rides on a diamond type chassis. The seat height is 795mm and the ground clearance is 165mm. The kerb weight of the bike is 148 kg and it has a fuel tank capacity of 12.5-litres.

The Xpulse 200 and the Xpulse 200T were spotted last month in Turkey with a fuel-injection sticker which leads us to believe that the engine on the Xpulse 200 and the Xpulse 200T is a BSVI compliant engine. The Xpulse 200 will come equipped with a 21-inch front and an 18-inch rear spoked wheel and it will be a capable off-road machine. On the other hand, the Xpulse 200T will get 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres, which is designed more for touring and better on-road performance.

Both the bikes will feature an LED headlight and tail light and a digital speedometer console with Bluetooth connectivity and turn by turn navigation. The suspension on both the bikes will be a telescopic front fork and an adjustable monoshock on the rear. The brakes are a single hydraulic petal disc brake on the front and rear with a single channel ABS setup.

The Hero Xpulse 200 and Xpulse 200T will be launched on 1st of May 2019 and the pricing should be around the INR 1 lakh mark (Ex-Showroom).

But wait! There is also a fully-faired motorcycle based on this same engine which will be launched on 1st of May. Know more about the bike here.
