Hero MotoCorp Splendor Plus now in a new silver + blue shade

Hero MotoCorp, India’s largest motorcycle maker, has announced a new paint option for its evergreen Splendor Plus. Now, customers can also get this motorcycle in a new Silver Nexus Blue colour shade. Thus with this addition, the total number of paint options for Splendor Plus is six. The new Silver Nexus Blue joins the existing colour options that comprise black with purple, black with sports red, heavy grey with green, matte shield gold, and black with silver.

Hero Splendor Plus – A Brief Overview

The Splendor Plus is Hero’s highest-selling Splendor range. The Hero Splendor series has been selling an average of 2.5 lakh units per month. This motorcycle uses a 97.2cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor. The performance output figures read as 7.9 BHP at 8,000rpm and 8.05 Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The engine gets a four-speed gearbox. In terms of suspension setup, it gets telescopic forks at the front, while the rear uses dual spring-loaded shock absorbers. Braking power comes from drum setup both at the front and rear.

As far as the key features are concerned, Splendor Plus benefits from the company’s idle-start-stop technology. With this, Hero claims an improvement in fuel economy by nine per cent. In terms of safety, the motorcycle also comprises engine cut-off at fall. There’s also the provision of a combined braking system. Other notable highlights include a halogen headlight setup, bulb-type turn indicators, a halogen tail light, as well as a digital instrument cluster.

Prices And Other Options In The Segment

Prices for Splendor Plus start from INR INR 70,858 (ex-showroom). Splendor Plus is available in three trims, I3S Drum Self Cast Matt Shield Gold, I3S Drum Self Cast, and Drum Self Cast. The other options in this range are quite a few. This includes the likes of TVS Radeon, Star City Plus, Bajaj Platina, and Honda CD 110 Dream in the Indian market.
