Hero MotoCorp restarts plants from May 17th, 2021

Hero MotoCorp, which had earlier announced the temporary closure of its manufacturing facilities, now reopens the operations in a staggered manner. The world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer’s operations will resume today, 17th May, by starting a single shift at three plants. Those are located in Haridwar (Uttarakhand), Dharuhera and Gurgaon (Haryana).

The company also mentioned that it would increase its focus towards catering for the global market via its Global Business (GB) unit. Hero MotoCorp informed that they are continuously monitoring the situation and will alter their decisions as and when required. The manufacturing facilities will resume working at their full capacity in a gradual manner, keeping the Covid-19 situation in mind.

The temporary closure period was earlier announced from 22nd April till 2nd May. But, the rising cases of Covid-19 in the country compelled Hero MotoCorp to extended the date till 16th May.

Hero MotoCorp’s Covid-19 Vaccination Drive

The Government of India is encouraging everyone to take the vaccine to help flatten the infection curve. The situation right now is worsening as days pass, and an aggressive vaccination drive is the need of the hour. Keeping this in mind, Hero MotoCorp had earlier announced its vaccination drive for its employees. Hero MotoCorp now confirmed that 90 per cent of its employees aged above 45 had got their Covid-19 vaccine. To ensure safe and secure working conditions, Hero MotoCorp has laid down strict safety and hygiene protocols. All the employees working in the Corporate offices will continue in the Work From Home (WFH) mode.

Hero MotoSports, the racing arm of the brand, made a very positive start at Andalucia Rally. The team finished the Prologue stage on a winning note. Joaquim Rodriques and Sebastian Buhler made it big by securing 1st and 3rd position, respectively, with Franco Caimi finishing in fourth place. The event is happening as a ‘closed-door event’, which means there are no spectators. All the participating members are part of a bio-bubble adhering to all the Covid-19 measures and guidelines.
