Hero MotoCorp plant shutdown extended by 1 week

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, extends the temporary closure of its manufacturing plants. Given the rising Covid-19 cases in the country, the company had announced a halt in the operations. In a staggered manner, all the plant operations here put on hold from April 22 till May 1. But, then the company decided to extend the closure till 9th May.

Even now, there’s no decrease in the number of cases, and the situation is getting worse. Thus, the brand decided to further extend the closure till May 16, 2021. This will impact all the manufacturing facilities, its Global Parts Centre (GPC) in Neemrana and its R&D facility – the Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur. The brand also announced that all corporate offices are in Work from Home (WFH) mode.

Hero MotoCorp Enhances Its Digital Buying Experience

The need of the hour is to stay at home and help curb the spread of the virus. This is limiting the footfalls of the customers across all automotive showrooms. To counter this problem, Hero MotoCorp recently launched a new virtual showroom. This aims to provide the customers with a new digital experience of visiting a showroom from the comfort of their home. Customers will have an entirely 3D experience of looking at the various models with their available colours and variants. The virtual showroom is accessible on Hero MotoCorp’s official website.

For April, Hero MotoCorp garnered a total cumulative sales of 3,72,285 units. There’s a dip in the sales figure compared to the previous month, i.e., March 2021. The main reason for this is the sense of uncertainty among the customers and various lockdowns across the country. There’s a significant gap between the retailers, suppliers and customers. But, there’s something to cheer up for Hero MotoCorp. The motorcycle brand, along with American giant Harley Davidson is all set to enter the Indian market. They have already revealed the price of their range of motorcycles in India. Herley Davidson will try to leverage the wide presence of Hero MotoCorp in the country and make a positive impact in the market.
