World’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp has launched their new scooter in the 125cc segment, the Maestro Edge 125. The Hero Maestro Edge 125 comes in two variants, namely a Carburettor and Fuel-Injection. The Maestro Edge 125 Fi is the country’s first scooter to have fuel Injection technology.
Powering the 2019 Hero MotoCorp Maestro Edge 125 is a 124.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor with PGMFI which produces 9.1 BHP of power @ 7000 RPM and 10.2 Nm of torque @ 5000 RPM. This engine has a best-in-class power to weight ratio. The scooter weighs 110 kg (kerb)
The other Maestro Edge 125 is the i3S (Idle Start Stop) equipped carburetor variant that comes with a single-cylinder, air-cooled, 124.6cc, Energy Boost engine which produces 8.7 BHP of power @ 6750 RPM and 10.2 Nm of torque @ 5000 RPM. The scooter features an i3S ‘Idle Start-Stop System’ which provides it with a high efficiency number.
Both engines are matched to a Variomatic gearbox.
Other hardware on the scooter includes a telescopic front fork and a single coil spring hydraulic suspension on the rear. The braking comes from a single 190mm hydraulic disc on the front and a 130mm diameter mechanically operated drum brake on the rear wheel. The Maestro Edge 125 i3S model comes with a drum brake option as well on the front wheel.
Both the Maestro Edge 125 Carb and the FI come loaded with features such as LED daytime running lamp, diamond-cut alloy wheels, remote fuel filler cap, LED tail lights, frost turn-signal indicators, etc. The scooter comes with a lot of convenience features such as a mobile charging port, a large under seat luggage compartment with boot light, remote key opening seat, a side stand indicator, service due reminder and a digital-analog instrument console.
The Maestro Edge 125 comes in two colour options:-
- Pearl White with Brown inner panel and Astro Gold front forks
- Panther Black with a Sporty Red inner panel
