Hero Electric & Log9 want to full charge electric scooters in 15 minutes

Hero Electric has announced that the EV brand has partnered with Log9 Materials to offer Log9 InstaCharging battery packs. For the uninitiated, Log9 Materials is a Bengaluru-based company leveraging its material science and nanotechnology expertise. The brand claims to create steadfast electric vehicle battery technologies out of India. Log9 has also received various accolades, such as the Most Innovative Technology Company. Log9 boasts to be the only company in India with materials, electrode, cell, and pack level fabrication of energy storage technologies. 

Log9’s InstaCharging Battery Packs

Log9’s InstaCharging Battery Packs will help the fast charging challenges faced by the 2- and 3-wheeler segments. This will also help expedite EV adoption in India. The government of India is also trying to help brands create a charging infrastructure. The fast-charging infrastructure will also help the brand’s with long-haul electric mobility, thanks to Log9’s flagship Aluminum Fuel Cell technology. 

InstaCharge RapidX Batteries

Hero Electric reveals that the integration of Log9’s RapidX batteries will fully charge Hero Electric 2W within 15 minutes. This will help the brand deliver an uninterrupted ride experience. Log9 will also be leveraging the brand’s cell-to-pack competency to develop the batteries. The brand claims that this will offer 9x faster charging, 9x better performance, 9x lower battery degradation and 9x battery life.

Battery-as-a-Service

Hero Electric has revealed that the battery will be available via outright sales as well as via the Battery-as-a-Service model. The BAAS model will also allow the batteries to be used in commercial applications. Commercial fleet operators will be able to take advantage of the operational performance of the InstaCharge battery packs at small monthly rates. The brand also revealed that Log9 has already tested the RapidX battery system with multiple B2B fleet operators such as Amazon, Shadowfax, Delhivery, Flipkart, BykeMania, etc. The batteries are a result of multiple collaborations and claim to come with an operational life of 10+ years. The brand also reveals that Log9’s RapidX batteries are built to operate from -30° to 60° C.
