German car company Smart Automobile has revealed its new Smart #1 electric crossover in the international market. The electric crossover SUV was unveiled at a world premiere in Berlin, adding to the new-generation all-electric product family. The new Smart #1 has entered a new phase of development with Europe and China’s “dual-home” business strategy. The brand also reveals that it is developing a premium all-electric urban mobility product that the global market will accept in the near future.
How Big is the Smart #1?
The Smart #1 measures 4,270 mm in length and comes with a wheelbase of 2,750mm. The car also boasts an enhanced 360-degree view thanks to the impressive interior space. The brand claims that it is offering the maximum space to footprint ratio with the new Smart #1 electric crossover SUV. The grown-up size of the EV not only offers space and comfort but is also compact enough for the urban environment.

The Smart #1 electric crossover SUV comes with a futuristic design language. The EV comes with progressive elements such as concealed electric door handles, frameless doors, and the floating halo roof. Smart #1 also comes with an imposing front end that consists of sleek yet quirky headlamps. The car also comes with wraparound DRLs, and air intakes on the front to cool the brakes and powertrain. The electric SUV also features a large glasshouse and wraparound taillights. The brand reveals that the Smart #1 electric SUV will retail in Smart showrooms. These showrooms have been specially designed to reflect the new design DNA and the premium appearance of the Smart brand.

The Smart #1 electric SUV comes with a dedicated app environment and customizable infotainment user interface. The car also gets human-centric technology and an avatar as an intelligent companion with AI-based voice control. The car has an interconnected ecosystem with a Smart app, and data clouds protected by a personal Smart-ID and the highest cyber security encryption standards. Thanks to the connected features, the car can automatically receive updates OTA (Over-the-Air).
Smart #1 Electric Crossover SUV – Powertrain
Powering the Smart#1 EV is a 200kW peak performance electric motor. The brand reveals that Smart #1 will be capable of AC charging from 10-80 % with 22kW in just 3 hours. Also, Smart #1 can achieve the same in 30 minutes with a DC super-fast charger. Smart #1 is likely to offer a range of around 420-450 km on a single charge, thanks to the 66 kWh NCM (Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese) battery.
