Harley-Davidson’s 2023 LiveWire S2 Del Mar revealed

Written by Rohit Tonapi

Harley-Davidson made the LiveWire into a standalone brand, and now the company has revealed its second electric motorcycle. The split-up of the brands means LiveWire no longer needs to follow the styling language of the Harleys. Hence, the new 2023 S2 Del Mar features all-new styling. The new LiveWire S2 Del Mar Launch Edition will also have only 100 units available.

The serialized Del Mar Launch Editions of the S2 will be built to order and carry a USD 17,699 MSRP price tag. Interested customers can reserve the bike using the company’s website. The deliveries will begin in the spring of 2023. The company will also start producing the standard S2 Del Mar after the Launch Edition. The base trim of the S2 Del Mar will come in at USD 15,000 MSRP.

The new S2 Del Mar will come in two exclusive finishes – Jasper Grey and Comet Indigo. Additionally, the electric bike will also get a special wheel design. LiveWire says that the exclusive finishes and graphics are hand-applied and need five days to complete. The company also mentions that the 19-inch wheels’ design draws inspiration from the modern-day circuit boards.

The new model also showcases LiveWire’s new S2 Arrow platform. LiveWire developed the modular architecture and proprietary motor, battery, charging, and control system at its Mountain View, California lab. The Del Mar produces a peak of 80 HP thanks to the fully-integrated chassis and powertrain.

The S2 Del Mar tips the scales at 199 kg. This results in a good power-to-weight ratio. The company claims a 0-96 kmph time of 3.5 seconds. LiveWire says it will get up to 160 km of range in the city. Since the Del Mar will cater to urban riders, the company does not mention the highway range.
