Harley-Davidson X440 Vs. Royal Enfield Meteor 350 – Specification Comparison

Harley-Davidson’s new X440 bike has finally been unveiled. The motorcycle is developed under a joint venture with Hero MotoCorp. Let us take a look at the specification comparison of this new bike with the Royal Enfield Meteor 350.

Dimension differences between Harley-Davidson X440 and Royal Enfield Meteor 350

Harley-Davidson’s smallest bike measures 2,168 mm long and gets a 1,418 mm wheelbase. The seat height is 805 mm while the ground clearance is set at 170 mm. The bike rides on an 18-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear. The weight of the bike is 190.5 kg and the fuel tank can hold 13.5 litres of petrol.

Meanwhile, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 has a length of 2,140 mm and a wheelbase of 1,400 mm. The seat height is 765 mm and the ground clearance is 170 mm. The bike’s kerb weight is 191 kg with a 15-litre fuel tank.

The HD X440 gets an all-new made-in-India engine. This 440cc, single cylinder unit is rated at 27 BHP @ 6000 RPM and 38 Nm of torque @ 4000 RPM. The motor is oil-cooled and the exhaust is sent via a single side pipe. The X440’s engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 gets a J-series air-cooled 349cc single-cylinder engine. The engine incorporates a unique oil circuit in the 2-valve head of this single-cylinder motor for enhanced cooling. Thus, this engine puts out 20 BHP and 27 Nm of peak torque. The bike is paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

Hardware Differences compared

The HD X440 rides on a KYB USD 43mm front fork and dual gas charged rear shock absorbers with 7-step preload adjustment. The front disc is 320mm and rear disc is 240mm coupled with dual channel ABS.

Meanwhile the Meteor 350 gets telescopic front forks with twin-tube emulsion shock absorbers at the back with 6 step adjustment. The bike comes with a 300mm front disc and 270mm rear disc and dual-channel ABS as well.

Key features on the HD X440 include all-LED lights, LED DRLs with Harley-Davidson branding in the headlamp amongst others. The bike also gets a 3.5″ round TFT speedometer cluster which shows information such as range, mileage, gear indicator, speedometer, etc. The bike also comes with HD connect service and allows for turn-by-turn navigation, call & message alerts and music control. A USB charging point is also offered.

Meanwhile, the Meteor 350 gets a Tripper Navigation system, an analogue speedometer and a tachometer with a multi-information display. The bike also features LED DRLs and LED tail lamps.
