Hero MotoCorp has announced that deliveries for the highly anticipated Harley-Davidson X440 will commence from 15 October 2023. The company also announced that bookings will reopen from 16 October 2023. This gives a chance who missed out on the initial booking window.
According to Hero, the response for the entry level Harley has been overwhelming. The initial 25,000 bookings were confirmed in no time and the company had to hold the bookings till production caught up.
Harley-Davidson X440 : More Details
In terms of the powertrain, the X440 uses a 440cc, single-cylinder engine. This motor produces 27 BHP of power and 38 Nm of torque. The engine uses a six-speed gearbox.
The entry level variant Denim is offered in Mustard Denim paint shade. It gets a yellow painted fuel tank with the rest of the bike finished in black. The bike rides on tube tyres shod on wire-spoke wheels.
The mid-sped Vivid trim gets two colours – Metallic Thick Red and Metallic Dark Silver. Harley is offering alloy wheels on the Vivid trim.
The top-end S variant comes in a lone Matte Black colour. It gets machined alloys, 3D decals and most importantly connected features including smartphone connectivity. Other features include maps support using turn-by-turn navigation, phone and SMS alerts and music control.
All variants of the Harley-Davidson X440 are equipped with a 3.5-inch TFT screen, full-LED lighting, and dual-channel ABS for safety.
Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson
Harley-Davidson & Hero MotoCorp have jointly developed and launched the X440 cruiser motorcycle in India. This is the most affordable Harley-Davidson motorcycle to be sold worldwide, and it will be available in 3 variants.
While the bike has been launched in India, production has commenced only September 2023. The bike will be made at Hero’s Neemrana plant in Rajasthan. Hero also undertook capacity expansion at the Rajasthan plant before the production of the X440.
