Harley-Davidson has slashed its prices on the brand’s entry-level model the Harley-Davidson Street Rod which was earlier priced starting at INR 655,500 ex-showroom, Delhi, now gets a flat discount of INR 56,500 and comes with new pricing of INR 599,000 ex-showroom, Delhi. The pricing is for the ‘Vivid Black’ paint option and other paint options such as River Rock Gray Denim, Stone Washed White Pearl and Performance Orange add INR 68,500 to the ex-showroom price. The top of the range two-tone paint option demands a premium of INR 687,500 which is INR 88,500 higher than the base.
The Harley-Davidson Street Rod is powered by the High Output Revolution X engine and though it is based on the Harley Davidson Street 750 it pumps out 18% more horsepower and 8% more torque than the Street 750 thanks to the improved 12.0:1 compression ratio and features dual throttle body, enhanced intake ports & cams, etc. The 749cc liquid-cooled, V-Twin cylinder motor with Mikuni Twin Port Fuel Injection system produces 65 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox. To put things into perspective, the 750cc V-Twin liquid-cooled Revolution engine on the Harley-Davidson Street 750 comes with 11.0:01 compression ratio and produces 59 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed transmission unit.
In terms of styling and equipment, the Street Rod comes with a rounded headlight with a headlamp shroud that integrates a small flyscreen, scooped single-seat, tear-drop shaped fuel tank, drag-style handlebars, bar-end mirrors, a blacked-out engine with machine finish on the cooling fins, upside-down suspension setup with a sporty 27-degree rake angle on the front, gas-charged hydraulic twin shocks on the rear, 7-split type open spoke alloy wheels on the front & rear, dual hydraulic disc brakes on the front and a single disc brake on the rear wheel. The Street Rod also features a 3.5-inch electronic speedometer with neutral indicator, low oil pressure indicator, turn signals, engine diagnostics lights, low fuel warning lights etc.
Harley-Davidson India also announced in the past that the brand will be retailing the Harley-Davidson Street 750 and the Harley-Davidson Street Rod at special prices for Armed Forces personnel and both the motorcycles will be available for sale from the Canteen Store Department (CSD) across India.
