Harith Noah creates history; 1st Indian to win Dakar Rally 2 Class

TVS Racing Factory Racer Harith Noah has become the first Indian to finish in the top 11 at the Dakar Rally 2024. The Dakar Rally is the world’s toughest rally in the world covering 5,000 gruelling kilometres. Riders face challenging terrain combined with extreme weather conditions spread over 14 days and 12 stages. TVS Motor Company, racing division TVS Racing has been participating in the Dakar Rally since 2015. TVS is the first Indian manufacturer to participate in the Dakar Rally.

Harith Noah Crosses Finish Line in 11th Position

Harith Noah won the Rally 2 class and finished at 11th position in Rally GP Overall Class. His previous best position was 20th which is a momentous breakthrough for both the rider and the team. Harith reveals that main goal for him and the team was to cross the finish line.

The key to winning is consistency, riding one km at a time, reveals Harith. Furthermore, Noah reveals that though the first week started slow, he picked up pace in the second week. Also, in the second week Harith becoming comfortable on the terrain and the machine pushing himself and navigating easily through the treacherous terrain.

In stage 10 Harith achieved the 5th overall ranking and winning the stage. Harith also got sick half-way through the rally, but managed to recover, showing the level of commitment, toughness and hardcore training on his side. It also shows the dedication and practice both the team and rider have put in bringing the 11th position in the Rally GP Overall Class.

Dakar Rally 2024

The Dakar Rally is an annual international Rally-Raid event, the 46th edition held in Saudi Arabia. The Rally-Raid takes place throwing challenges such as the the brand-new 48H Chrono concept in the Empty Quarter. Rub’ Al Khali or the Empty Quarter is the world’s largest sand sea covering 583,000 square kilometers and holding as much as half the sand in the Sahara. The Rally commenced at Alula and culminated at Yanbu covering around 5,000 kms.
