Birmingham-headquartered GoZero Mobility has launched its line of electric bicycles in the Indian market. The GoZero e-bikes are dubbed Skellig and come in three variants – Skellig Lite, Skellig and Skellig Pro. The e-bikes are priced starting INR 19,999 for the Skellig Lite, INR 24,999 for the Skellig (Standard) and INR 34,999 for the Skellig Pro models.
Both the Skellig and the Skellig Pro are available at GoZero stores as well as the brand’s official website along with other e-commerce websites, but the Skellig Lite is can only be purchased online. The brand has also announced that it has opened bookings for the GoZero Skellig series from 8th November 2020 from its official website and orders on Amazon will go live from 12th November 2020. Furthermore, GoZero will also start delivering the e-bikes from 25th Novemeber 2020.
The GoZero Skellig e-bike in the standard form is powered by a 250 W electric motor coupled to an EnerDrive 210 Wh lithium battery pack that lasts for 800 cycles and features 5-level Peddle-Assist Mode, throttle mode, cruise mode and walk mode. The Skellig Lite version comes with the same electric motor for drive and the same battery pack but a different Drive Control 2.0 with three pedal-assist modes. The Skellig (standard) features an alloy stem handle, premium counter-body suspension fork and 26×1.95 tyres. The Lite version gets the same tyre setup but comes with V brakes and an independent rigid suspension fork. Both the Skellig (standard) and the Lite offer a top speed of 25 kmph and a range of 25 kmph on a single charge. The battery can be replenished in 2.5 hours.
The brand has also introduced the Pro version of the e-bike in the Indian market this year, that features an EnerDrive 400 Wh lithium battery pack with 2000 cycle rating that can propel the bike to 25 kmph and returns a range of 70 kmph on a single charge. The Skellig Pro comes with a composite mild steel frame, alloy stem handle, front suspension fork, 26×2.35 inches tyres, GoZero prive disc brakes on both ends, a 7-speed gear system, a GoZero Drive Control Version 4.0 LCD display and a flashlight with a guide-me-home enabled lighting system. The GoZero Skellig Pro can be charged in 3 hours.
The GoZero e-bikes are produced in Kolkatta India, and the brand aims to promote fitness along with an eco-friendly way of daily commute especially in the post-COVID era where sustainable personal mobility is very important as it automatically encourages social distancing and is also pocket friendly.
