The Galaxy A7 uses a long 4.9 meters long platform, which is further added with the practicality of a flat floor design and a roomy cabin. It has a wheelbase of 2,845 mm, which enhances its outlook into a professional-looking D-segment sedan.

Speaking of its highlight, the A7 uses a tried and tested 1.5-litre petrol engine, which is further mated to the choice of two battery options, with a maximum electric range of up to 130 km on a single charge. The strong-hybrid drivetrain and the powerful single electric motor, combined, offer 2,100 km range, which further translates into 50 km/l of fuel economy.

On the inside, it features a similar minimalist design, which has a big vertical infotainment screen and a small digital cockpit for the driver. The interiors are draped in leather upholstery, while the two-spoke steering has buttons for level 2 ADAS and voice-assist functions.

Geely will primarily sell it in China, and later it will be introduced in other prominent car markets like the Middle East. The starting price for the Galaxy A7 is 100,000 Yuan, which is approximately equal to Rs 12 lakh.

Our verdict

The new Geely Galaxy A7 is a smart-looking sedan with advanced features and a very efficient hybrid engine. While Geely has no plans to enter India any time soon, we expect other manufacturers to introduce more hybrid models with extended range soon.
