Ford planning to launch Territory SUV in India?

Ford India could be evaluating the launch of the Ford Territory 5-seater SUV in the Indian market. The Ford Territory is currently on sale in select ASEAN markets. Rumours suggest that the SUV could come to the Indian market in the next few months. If the brand launches the Territory in the Indian market the 5-seater SUV will rival the likes of the Jeep Compass and the Tata Harrier.

Design & Styling

The 4.5-metre long SUV features a clamshell-style bonnet, sleek segmented LED headlamps, a wide air dam with a wing-like splitter effect, wide lower air intakes, trough radiator grille finished in black, flared wheel arches, straight cuts and crease line on the sides, chrome window beltline, silver-finish roof rails, a panoramic moonroof, chrome door handles, black-out B- and C-pillars that give the SUV a wraparound effect, a large rear quarter window that allows more light into the cabin, a raked rear windscreen, sleek LED taillamps and a chrome garnish in between the left and right units.

Interior Features

The Ford Territory features heated and cooled seats which is a brilliant feature appreciated in the Indian climate, a spacious yet stylish interior cabin,  soft-touch materials on the dashboard, wooden dashboard and door trims, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless charging, a fully digital 10-inch instruments cluster, a flowing central tunnel with rows of buttons and a chunky gear level, automatic climate control, multiple airbags, autonomous emergency braking, park assist, 360-degree camera etc.

Powertrain

Powering the Ford Territory is a 1.5-litre EcoBoost engine that produces 143 PS of power and 225 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with sports mode. The Ford Territory measures 4,580mm in length, 1,936mm in width, 1,674mm in height and a wheelbase of 2,716mm. The SUV also comes with 180mm of ground clearance and gets 17-inch/18-inch alloy wheels depending on the variant.
