Ford launches EcoSport S & limited period ‘Signature Edition’

Ford doesn’t have too many aces in their product portfolio. The EcoSport is their only consistent decent volumes car here in the Indian market, and the American manufacturer has brought some more changes to the table. Ford India has added a new top trim for the EcoSport called the ‘EcoSport S’ and a new limited period ‘Signature Edition’ is also going on sale.

Both these new variants, the EcoSport S & the limited edition Signature Edition are going to be equipped with an electric sliding sunroof. The big change though is that the EcoSport S is powered by the 1.0L EcoBoost petrol engine, and is also available with a diesel motor option.

Changes on the EcoSport S include new smoked HID headlamps, black bezel for the front fog lamp, black grille, black roof, black painted roof rails and 17″ smoke shade alloy wheels. Inside, the EcoSport S sports orange shades on the seats and on the instrument panel to lend it a premium feel. This top trim also comes with a larger 4.2″ digital MID with TPMS support (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System).

The EcoSport S petrol is powered by a 1.0L, EcoBoost engine which produces 125 PS of peak power and 170 Nm of peak torque which allows for a fuel efficiency of 18.1 kmpl. The engine is matched to a new 6-speed manual gearbox. The 1.5L diesel TDCi motor is also on offer which produces 100 PS of power and delivers 23 kmpl of mileage.

The limited period Signature Edition will be available with the 123PS 1.5L TiVCT petrol and 1.5L TDCi diesel engine options. This variant will get chrome surround for the grille, diamond cut 17″ wheels, black fog lamp bezel, new body graphics, rear spoiler and roof rails. Interiors have blue accents on seats, centre console and instrument panel. The Signature Edition is based on the Titanium variant and also gets the sunroof as mentioned before.
