Ford introduces ‘Dial-A-Ford’ contactless platform with new safety protocols

As Ford’s dealerships resume operations, in accordance with local guidelines, Ford has announced a new contactless sales and service platform called ‘Dial-A-Ford’. The Dial-A-Ford system will ensure customers can reach out to Ford dealerships from the safety of their home to purchase Ford vehicles or to service an existing Ford vehicle. The brand will be using a dedicated centrally controlled helpline – 1800-419-3000, for both sales and service of Ford vehicles. 

Through Dial-A-Ford, interested buyer’s can call on the dedicated number and connect with the Ford team to book a new vehicle as well as arrange a test drive for the same. Customers can also make payments through online channels and get the new vehicle delivered at their doorstep. 

Existing Ford customers can use Dial-A-Ford for online consultation with an advisor, organize pick-up and drop for the vehicle that requires service as well as use digital payment gateways to settle their bills. Existing customers will also receive regular updates of the vehicle in service via contactless communication channels. 

In addition to the contactless sales and service channels, Ford has also employed high standards of sanitisation process at all Ford dealerships. The new approach includes the sanitisation of Ford facilities as well as strict guidelines for people and vehicles. This includes all vehicles at the sales and service points to be thoroughly sanitised at the time of delivery, pick-up or drop. 

The brand is also taking safety measures such as checking the body temperature of any person who enters Ford facilities using a contactless infrared thermometer. Deploying hand sanitisers at entry, exit points & high traffic areas in high visibility, ensuring social distancing policies in all areas including customer waiting rooms, enforcing social distancing policies in customer interaction, ensuring all employees, as well as customers, wear face masks and gloves and providing hazardous waste bins for safe disposal of potentially contaminated materials.

Ford has also announced that the vehicle warranties expired or set to expire between March 15 and May 30, 2020, will be offered an extension till June 30, 2020, without any additional cost. The same will apply for customers who missed purchasing extended warranties due to the lockdown. The brand has also extended the time period for scheduled service including free service for three months, till June 30, 2020, without impacting warranty. Also, customers who purchased new Ford cars until 30 April will get complete price protection at the time of delivery.
