Ford has just launched the 2018 Aspire compact-sedan facelift in the Indian market at prices starting from INR 5.55 lakh. This car rivals the likes of Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Tata Tigor. The Aspire has been a slow seller as per segment standards, and needed this refresh to boost sales.
The Aspire facelift is available in 2 engine options, 5 variants and 7 colours to choose from.
Powering the Aspire is the new 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol motor producing 96 PS of power and 120 Nm of torque with a claimed fuel efficiency of 20.4 kmpl. The diesel engine is the same 1.5L block producing 100 PS of power and 215 Nm of torque delivering 26.1 kmpl of mileage. Both engines come with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Ford claims that the new manual transmission is 15% lighter and needs 40% less gear oil than before. This will also improve NVH & mileage.
For those who want an automatic and a bigger engine, you can get the 1.5L motor matched to a 6-speed AT. This engine produces 123 PS of power.
Exterior changes to the Ford Aspire include new front and rear bumpers, new fog lamp housing, new front grille, new alloy wheel design, smoked headlamps and redesigned tail lamps. Inside, the car gets beige and black interiors with the new 6.5″ infotainment screen, up to 6 airbags, and more.
