The Baleno from Maruti Suzuki is a very popular car. We know it for a fact, because of the number of cars we see on the streets. Now, this popular premium hatchback has crossed yet another milestone. In just 38 months since launch, the Baleno has managed to clock over 5 lakh sales. It rivals the likes of Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz, and the likes.
In the first half of 2018-19, the Baleno has clocked a growth of 20.6%. Which is hinting at even stronger sales performance in the coming months. The Baleno has been a high selling car since 2016, much higher in comparison to rivals. The Baleno was first launched in October 2015.
The Baleno in 2019 is due for a facelift, more on that later as we’ve not seen a single test car out on the streets yet. It already comes with all the latest features one might expect in a car of this segment, and the facelift leaves us not desiring for more as we already get enough kit.
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is exclusively Made in India. It is exported to Suzuki’s home market, Japan, from India.
At the moment, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno is sold in 3 engine options. 1.2L petrol, 1.3L diesel and a 1.0L Boosterjet petrol on the RS trim. The Baleno petrol also benefits from a CVT automatic gearbox.
