Electric Royal Enfield motorcycles now anytime soon

Royal Enfield plans to bring electric powered motorcycles to the Indian market. According to reports, The brand is likely to announce its electric motorcycle portfolio soon. However, reports reveal that the RE electric bikes are not likely to make it to the market this financial year.

Royal Enfield – Electric Motorcycle Plans

Now, a media report reveals that Royal Enfield could be planning a separate vertical for its electric vehicle business. Also, a dedicated commercial team will head the new electric vehicle business. Furthermore, reports reveal that ex-Ola and ex-Ducati personnel are likely to have been hired by Royal Enfield for the electric vehicle business. 

Reports also reveal that the Electric Motorcycles will take more time become mainstream than electric scooters. Until the batteries become lighter, cheaper and are packaged smaller the electric motorcycle segment is likely to gain traction slowly. However, the brand has a full product plan and a future road map to for its EV journey revealed reports. 

Royal Enfield – Guerrilla 450

Currently, the brand plans to launch a slew of ICE powered motorcycle in the Indian market. Also, spyshots of a new Himalayan 450 based bike have emerged on the internet. This new retro-roadster is likey to be named Guerrilla 450 and is likely to hit the market soon.

The brand is currently road testing the Guerrilla 450 and spyshots reveal that the engine is likely to have been borrowed from the Himalayan 450. However, the brand is likely to offer a semi-digital display with tripper navigation and right side up front forks instead of the long travel USDs on the Himalayan 450. Also, the Guerrilla could come with 17-inch alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. This leads us to believe that the Guerrilla 450 is likely to be placed below the Himalayan and will come with a lower price making it more accessible.
