Written by Rohit Tonapi

At the start of August 2022, Ducati announced the dates for its World Premiere 2023. As a part of this, the Italian brand stated that it will unveil a total of 7 new motorcycles for 2023. Ducati has already unveiled the limited edition Streetfighter V4 Lamborghini and the Monster SP. And now, the Italian brand has unveiled the third new product for 2023, the Multistrada V4 Rally.

Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally – Variant & Colour Options

Currently, the Multistrada V4 lineup includes – Standard, S and the Pikes Peak variants. Ducati launched these over the past two years. The Pikes Peak, with its 17-inch front wheel, is also the ultimate road-biased version of the Multistrada V4. And now, Ducati has taken wraps off the new Multistrada V4 Rally.

Ducati will offer the Multistrada V4 Rally in two colour options. These are – Ducati Red and a new Brushed Aluminium with Matte Black. The latter is also exclusive to the Rally variant.

Ducati has not revealed any details about the new Multistrada V4 Rally’s availability. After it makes its way to international shores, expect it to make its way to India a bit later as well.

Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally – Highlights

As the name suggests, the Rally variant focuses more on off-road performance than on-road performance. The engine remains the same 1,158cc Granturismo V4 with 170 BHP as the other variants. However, Ducati has updated its cylinder deactivation system for better fuel consumption and to comply with emission norms. The revised system now keeps two cylinders deactivated till it gains enough speed. On the other hand, the old system would only shut down two of its cylinders at idle.

For better off-road capabilities, the Skyhook semi-active suspension now also gets 200mm of extra suspension travel. This also results in better ground clearance than the other variants. It also gets wire-spoke rims, reinforced engine guards and a taller and wider windshield than the other variants.

Although, Ducati did not just stop at that. The Multistrada V4 Rally also comes with a larger 29-litre fuel tank. It also gets a new Minimum Preload technology. This lowers the bike when it comes to a stop. Thus, making it easier for shorter riders to plant their feet down. This is similar to what we first saw in the Harley-Davidson Pan America. Other changes include a longer tail section for better pillion comfort and thicker rubber for the pegs. The latter also helps in reducing vibrations.
