Ducati reveals Monster Senna edition, 341 units worldwide

Written by News Team

Ducati has launched a new special edition motorcycle to celebrate and remember the F1 race driver, Ayrton Senna. This special edition is based on the Ducati Monster and is limited to only 341 units worldwide.

Ducati Monster Senna Edition

The Senna edition comes in a special livery inspired by the Brazilian race driver’s racing helmet. The bike gets the similar yellow colour on the tank, underbelly cowl, the windscreen, and the tail. Like the helmet, the bike too gets contrasting highlights of green and blue. The rider seat is finished in a shade of blue. The forged aluminium wheels are finished in black with red, blue and yellow stripes.

Ducati’s arrival at the number of 341 units also holds significance. 3 stands for the number of championships and 41 stands for the number of races Ayrton Senna won. Adding to its exclusivity, each of the 341 units comes with a serial number (XXX/341) and a certificate of authenticity. The ‘Senna’ logos, the serial number on the handlebar, and a special motorcycle cover further enhance its collector’s item status.

Special Features

The Monster Senna is lighter than the standard Monster by 4kg. This weight reduction was achieved by fitting forged wheels and carbon fibre front and rear mudguards. The bike also features a Termignoni dual barrel exhaust with carbon fibre end caps and billet aluminium footpegs. It is equipped with an Ohlins steering damper and Ohlins front and rear suspension.

Mechanicals and Availability

The Monster Senna is powered by a 937cc, L-twin engine that makes 111 bhp at 9,250 rpm and 93 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox. Ducati will be allocating a few bikes for India as well. The Monster Senna is priced at $25,000 or INR 20.84 lakh. Obviously, this price will be higher in India as the motorcycle will attract import duties.
