Ducati has recalled a bunch of Panigale V2s in the USA. The move comes to fix a headlight issue that has affected some bikes.
What is the Ducati Panigale V2 headlight issue?
As per the recall, an incorrect software setting could turn on the daytime running lamps at night. This could affect the rider’s night driving experience. When DRLs are on, the main headlight could throw less light on the roads. This might result in an increased risk of a crash.
This is not the first time Duacti owners have raised an issue with the instrument cluster. Earlier this year, another DRL issue was reported. In some cases by keeping the backlight in Auto mode would result in DRL activation at night. It was said to be due to a software calibration error.
As of now, the recall notice shows 3315 units of the Panigale V2 as affected. Owners will soon be contacted directly or via the dealerships they purchased the bike from. The Italian bikemaker will install a new software free of charge. Ducati will also advise customers to first check the bike’s illumination on low beam.
That said, there is no news regarding the bikes sold in India. It is not yet clear if Ducati will issue the same recall in India.
