Written by Nizam Shaikh

Ducati introduced the all-new Multistrada V4, enhancing the brand’s ‘Adventouring’ segment. Now just after six months of its launch, Ducati has retailed 5,000 units of the adventure motorcycle. On this landmark occasion, Ducati also revealed that the German Ducatista Karl-Heinz Lebensieg bought the number 5,000 Multistrada V4.

The Ducati Multistrada V4 is available in three variants – V4, V4 S and V4 S Sport. The Ducatista ordered the motorcycle from the Ducati dealer in Ingolstadt, in the V4 S Sport, top-of-the-line configuration. To celebrate the 5,000 unit sales milestone, Ducati invited Karl-Heinz Lebensieg to Ducati Motor Deutschland, the Ducati dealer in Ingolstadt. Ducati also presented Mr Lebensieg with a sculptural reproduction of the Multistrada V4. Accompanying the Multistrada V4 sculpture is a personal letter certifying the motorcycle’s serial number.

Ducati Multistrada Engine Specifications

Powering the Ducati Multistrada V4 is a 1158cc 90-degree Granturismo V4 engine. The engine produces 170 Hp of power and 125 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox with Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) bi-directional quick shifter. What’s unique about the new engine is the latest part chain, part gear valvetrain. Also, a new spring valve return system replaces the Desmodromic valve distribution. The new engine claims that it stresses fewer components when compared to the Desmodromic system. This enables a class-leading 60,000 km maintenance interval for valves clearance check.

Ducati Multistrada V4 Features

The Multistrada V4 is the first production-spec model in the world that comes with both front and rear radar technology. The technology is developed in partnership with Bosch and comes with Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features such as adaptive cruise control. The cruise control system can be set to Near, Medium and Far and is able to detect and maintain distance from the vehicle in front. The system works between the speed of 30 km/h and 160 km/h and controls the motorcycle through automatic acceleration and braking.

Ducati also offers a performance exhaust system from Akrapovič and other carbon fibre accessories from its official dealerships. The motorcycle is also available in both alloy wheel and spoked wheel version.
