Ducati celebrates 25th anniversary of 916 with limited-edition Panigale V4

The iconic Ducati 916 which forever changed the superbike world is celebrating its 25th anniversary and the brand has announced the commemoration with a limited edition Panigale V4 which will be unveiled on 12th July 2019 at Pebble Beach, California. The unveiling will be done in the presence of four-time winner of World Superbike Championship ‘King’ Carl Fogarty, who raced with the Ducati in the 1990s.
The brand will present the limited edition motorcycle and it will be called the Panigale V4 25° Anniversario 916. Ducati is going to produce only 500 numbered examples of the Panigale V4 25° Anniversario 916 and the bike will sport the original 916 livery and exclusive racing components.

‘The Aruba.it Racing-Ducati team has further announced that to pay tribute to the Ducati 916, Alvaro Bautista and Chaz Davies’ bikes will take to the track with a special livery inspired by the graphics of the Panigale V4 25° Anniversario 916. The World SBK race will be held at Laguna Seca on 13th and 14th of July.

In its standard form, the Ducati Panigale V4 is powered by a 1,103cc 90 degree, V-4-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with a Desmodromically operated 4-valve/cylinder engine that develops 214 HP of power @ 13,000 RPM and 124 Nm of torque @ 10,000 RPM coupled to a 6-speed gearbox equipped with a Ducati Quick Shifter (DQS) along with a hydraulically controlled slipper assist clutch.
The state-of-the-art, MotoGp derived, Desmosedici Stradale engine features a reverse rotating crankshaft that reduces the gyroscopic effect making the bike more agile and it also helps to reduce wheelie and rear lift-up tendencies.

In terms of mechanical hardware, the Panigale V4 gets 43mm fully adjustable Showa upside-down front fork and a fully adjustable Sachs unit on the aluminium single-sided swingarm. Braking duties are performed by twin 330mm semi-floating disc with radially mounted Brembo Monobloc Stylema 4-piston callipers on the front. The rear wheel has a 245mm disc with 2-piston calliper and the bike is equipped with Bosch Cornering ABS EVO.
