With Hyosung, DSK Motowheels has hit the sweet spot and has recorded positive numbers over the past couple of years. The Hyosung brand which struggled in the Indian market, now seems to have gained a good grip and looks stable. Sighting positive sentiments in the high end motorcycle segment in India, DSK now plans to bring in the Italian motorcycle brand Benelli to India.

After TVS-BMW and Bajaj-KTM, DSK-Benelli will be another strong merger for the Indian two-wheeler sector. Benelli being a player in the motorcycle market even in the pre-world war era, has a lot of history and heritage attached. Bringing the brand to India will surely attract enthusiasts.

If the plans work well, DSK-Benelli will have a wide spread of motorcycles in the range of 300cc and all the way up to 1,131cc. The Benelli BN302 will be bread and butter model in launched in India, since it is a smaller 300cc capacity motorcycle and will be relatively cheaper to own. The BN302 is powered by a twin-cylinder engine layout and is based on the very capable trellis frame. However, the motorcycle will have a tough time proving its metal against KTM’s popular Duke 390 which offers immense value for money.

DSK is trying hard to bring in all the popular motorcycles from the Italian brand including 4-cylinder 600cc class motorcycles and 3-cylinder 1,131cc superbikes. More details should make their way out on the internet in the coming weeks.
