Deliveries of MY23 Land Rover Discovery Sport begin in India

Jaguar Land Rover India has announced the start of deliveries for the 2023 Model Year Discovery Sport. The SUV is available with a choice of two powertrains. The first is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol that produces 250 PS and 365 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the other option is a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel producing 204 PS and 430 Nm of torque. The only available trim is the R-Dynamic SE. The diesel and petrol powertrains in the R-Dynamic SE trim come with a sticker price of INR 71.39 lakh ex-showroom.

Discovery Sport is available in the R-Dynamic SE model and comes with a 5+2 seat configuration. The Discovery Sport perfectly personifies the DNA of the Discovery brand through its exquisite design and engineering marvel. The Discovery Sport is also highly versatile and convenient, which adds to the customers’ peace of mind. Its practical 5+2 seating layout improved with 40:20:40 split-folding second-row seats is perfect for Indian families.

The Discovery Sport also has a load space capability that allows up to 157 litres of wet volume. This converts to a dry capacity of 115 litres, measured with the use of solid blocks. Furthermore, with the second and third rows stowed away, one can increase storage capacity to 1,794 litres. For which the dry capacity reaches 1,574 litres. A pretty practical SUV indeed.

Key Features Of The Discovery Sport

Keeping up with the Land Rover’s reputation, the Discovery Sport gets a host of features. The new ClearSight interior rear-view mirror gives an unobstructed view. Then you have the Pivi Pro2 system that comes with one of the latest in-car artificial intelligence. This adds features like a 10-inch Touchscreen, a newly designed interface, Apple CarPlay2, Android Auto and a Remote. With 12 speakers, a dual-channel subwoofer and 400W amplified power, the Meridian Sound System is the perfect sound system for such a big SUV.

Mechanically too, the SUV gets a host of driver aids. This includes the Terrain Response 2. This monitors the driving conditions and automatically selects the most suitable driving mode. The Discovery Sport also has a class-leading wading depth of 600 mm. Additionally, the equipped Wade Sensing can help users safely tackle water crossing. This system will also send an alert should deep water approach the vehicle’s maximum wading depth.

The Discovery Sport is perfect for accomplishing off-roading endeavours as well. Some of the key features include Hill Descent Control, All Terrain Progress Control and Clearsight Ground View. Customers can also use a 3D Surround Camera and use the ClearSight Ground View5 to see through the Discovery Sport’s bonnet and display multiple exterior views, including the vehicle’s underside and wheels, as they drive.
